Talking about words + a fun Swiss tabletop game!

Today two of our team are giving a talk on using words as a narrative game mechanic called “Words are hard” at the gameZ & ruleZ conference in Zurich, Switzerland.
The conference is held by our Alma mater - Zurich University of the Arts and we are very proud to be part of it. The theme of this year is Narrative Game Mechanics in Design and Culture, which is our favorite topic as you can imagine ;)

We go over important things we’ve learned in the past years including all the possibilities and pitfalls of using text in video games, how to write for a game like “Letters” and how we can make text more fun.
So if you're near Zurich this Friday, come by and watch our talk! There are a lot of very interesting speakers talking about narrative mechanics and the event is even free!
Also this week a Swiss tabletop game has launched their second Kickstarter: Darwin's Choice – Expansion and Encyclopedia.
Darwin's Choice is a smart board game about creating your own species out of beautiful hand-drawn cards and guide them through the ever-changing eras in order to survive. Now they are working on an expansion that focuses on dinosaurs and prehistoric species.
We are proud backers of their first campaign (and now the second one as well). We really like the aesthetic of the hand-drawn cards and the fun gameplay and we think you might as well! Also, the people who made the game are really nice, so if you want to support them, go check out their Campaign:

We’re sharing a beautiful little office including a lovely garden with two of our friends.
Today we are working outside for a change, to get everything ready for winter. Is it already cold where you live or do you still have sun? Anyway, remember to go outside and enjoy some fresh air, especially when you work indoors all day as we do.
Talking about nature… We want to show you “Creature Keeper” today. A lovely game where you can befriend cute creatures and fight the chaotic forces alongside them. There is also gardening & cooking next to the fighting and it’s all set in an absolutely gorgeous, dreamy pixel world.

We are on our way to spread some spooky cheer and we wish you a fantastic, blood-curdling, spine-chilling, candy-crazy Halloween!
(Or just a cuddly, relaxed fall evening with good books and hot tea should you not celebrate Halloween today.)
On a different note, we want to show you a cute and fun game that we think is super adorable! The game is called “Hidden Treasures” and it's a Goblin Dating Simulator. Yes, you read right, a GOBLIN dating sim!
It combines elements of Visual Novels, dating sims, tabletop RPGs and the color green in one awesome, cute game!
